♥; FAQ post!
FAQ by Freshmen
1) When is the duration of Oweek 2008? Why does the booklet given stated 4th – 10th Aug which is different from the email sent?
Oweek 2008 is from 2nd Aug – 8th August. The booklet has printed the wrong dates.
2) What are the stay-over nights?
Stay-over nights: Mon – Tues, Thurs –Friday
*Note: 3rd Aug, Sunday is rest day for all.
3) How many freshmen are able to attend Oweek 2008?
Quota: 500
4) Why am I not being informed of the Welcome Tea Session?
Welcome Tea Session is actually not organized by NUS Engin Oweek 2008. It’s organized by Engin Faculty admin side. And they should have sent a post to you regarding the Welcome Tea Session.
5) When is the Welcome Tea Session?
The date for Welcome Tea Session depends on which engineering course you are from.
For further details, please refer to:
http://www.eng.nus.edu.sg/ugrad/welcome/sessions.html
6) What will I be doing for Week 0 if I am not coming for Oweek?
Basically the school curriculum only starts in Week 1. If you didn’t come for Oweek, it just means that you have one more week for your vacation.
However, Week 0 is actually very important for you to find out more about the school campus and the modules that you will be taking.
7) What if my hall orientation clashes with Oweek? Can I still attend Oweek?
Hall orientation should last for 2 weeks. If your hall orientation clashes with Oweek, maybe you can opt to come for the Oweek for one week. =)
8) What if I cannot attend the Welcome Tea Session? When can I make payment for the camp fees?
We will be conducting a PAYMENT DAY on 27th July, Sunday at Raffles City Starbucks (from 12pm to 5pm) for freshmen who have sent in their registration through email.
This is to enable freshmen who are not able to attend the Welcome Tea Session and also, to facilitate faster flow in the registration and payment on Welcome Tea, i.e., you do not have to queue up for very long just to make payment on Welcome Tea.
We will mass email to those who have already sent their registration through email regarding the payment day by Friday (do grant us some time allowance as we have received many applications!!).
Also, if you really cannot make it on 27th, 28th and 29th July for payment, kindly email us your reasons for not being to do so.
Please be reminded that the quota for freshman for Oweek 2008 is only 500. So we only consider those who register and have already made payment (1st come 1st serve basis) for Oweek, i.e., register + payment = successful application.
9) What is my next step after signing up?
After payment, we will assign the freshman to groups and your respective group leaders will inform you about the details regarding Oweek at a latter date.
10) Does the $20 fees include meal orders?
The $20 fees is for administrative purposes and it does not include meal orders. Meal orders will be paid separately on different days.
Hope this post clarify your doubts!=)
